Mabon Rituals

The Autumn Equinox is almost here, this year it falls on the 22nd of September. Bringing the end of Lughnasadh season and the end of summer. Also known as Mabon or Madron, it is a time where we honour the passing of summer, the growing season and the coming darkness of the cauldron time. Mabon is the Second of three harvest festivals in the Pagan wheel of the year, in between Lughnasadh and Samhain. It is a time to celebrate and share our harvest both in the physical and spiritual realms; to give thanks for all that has been achieved, put to rest that which will not serve us moving forward and look within. Also, just a heads up, The full moon in Pisces comes just before the equinox adding extra releasing energy. So, seriously, doing the work now will be so powerful Darlings.

You can find a basic write up of the history and traditions of Mabon here. However for this post I am offering 5 spells/rituals to support your practice; 2 for growth and blessings in the spring, 1 for protection and blessing as we move into the dark 1 to honour the changing of the season and 1 for releasing sorrow (Yaaaaaay!).

There is an emphasis on ‘soul harvesting’ at this time. Not the souls of others (though sometimes that does sound tempting😉), but the deep reflection and shadow work that lies ahead of us. A chance to leave behind what we need to and focus on the parts that will carry us through winter and into rebirth again next year. It is a time to celebrate but also to allow grief and sadness to move on with respect for it’s service. If this sounds like something you want more of, subscribe to gain access below.
