potions, lotions and witchy makings

Tea Time Tuesday! A cleansing, healing brew to regain balance after the festive period.

Phew, we made it through another year! As much as I enjoy the feasting and merriment of the festive period. My poor body finds it difficult. I have IBS and dyshidrotic eczema; I usually eat pretty clean with the odd treat here and there which my body can handle most of the time however at christmas that all seems to go out of the window. yes, I could show more restraint but fuck that! last year was bad enough without missing out on cheese boards.

The gut is the body’s second brain it’s where our intuition lives so if it isn’t supported the rest suffers too. I said to my husband somewhere around the 27th that we needed a word for the special kind of IBS that happens from eating loads of christmas foods you wouldn’t usually have. He came up with…drumroll please…CHRISTMYSENTERY! Brilliant!

merry christmysentery to all!

I use tea so much in my practice! It’s probably the easiest way to access the medicinal and magical properties of herbs. The making of it is a ritual all in itself. You can read more about that here.

This recipe was designed with the gut in mind to cleanse, heal and support.

*please always do your own research on ingredients, although I am careful not to include herbs that could have adverse affects combined with other medications and conditions, without warning. I am not a doctor*
